“Blue chip” CEGEP recruit lands in Ontario

CEGEP defensive standout becomes OUA team’s first commitment for 2014 class.

A blue chip Quebec recruit has committed to an OUA team to round out the month of September.

George Jean-Louis is the first 2014 recruit for the York Lions.  The 5’9, 183 pound defensive back from Montreal, Quebec has played for CEGEP Division 1 squad, Vieux-Montreal Spartiates and Sun Youth Hornets.

Lions Head Coach Warren Craney was thrilled that the team landed a recruit with tremendous talent such as Jean-Louis.

“We are very fortunate to land a Blue Chip recruit George Jean-Louis from CEGEP Vieux Montreal this early,” commented Craney of the commitment.  “He is an unbelievable defensive back that brings much needed speed and toughness to our secondary and he will have an immediate impact!”

Ultimately, this is a great start for the Lions 2014 class.  However, the task is only beginning and the team had a key recruitment goal for this upcoming year.

“It is paramount for our recruiting plan to have strong roots in the GTA and surround those kids with some of Canada’s best football players,” explained Craney.  “It just makes for a better locker room.”
