Blue Bombers Present Football Manitoba With Proceeds From 50/50 Sales

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have presented Football Manitoba with a cheque for $102,000 from their 50/50 sales during the 2010 season.

We are always happy to support amateur football in this province, said Blue Bomber President Jim Bell. This contribution will go a long way in supporting grassroots football in Manitoba and will help develop the Canadian football stars of the future.

The Winnipeg Football Club has donated well in excess of over 1 million dollars towards the development of amateur football through Football Manitoba over the past decade through their 50/50 draws at Bomber games. The Blue Bombers continue to support Football Manitoba at their coaching clinics and through Bomber player visits to various Football Manitoba events and practices.

Through the Club’s involvement in this partnership, the Blue Bombers are proud to see an increase in the number of participants playing football throughout the province of Manitoba. The Blue Bombers will continue to build and strengthen the relationship as they move forward into the 2011 season.

Football Manitoba is extremely fortunate to be partnered with the Blue Bombers in this unique initiative, says Rob Berkowits, Executive Director of Football Manitoba. They have done an excellent job at ensuring the game will continue to flourish at all levels.
