New gridiron journey

BCFC’s most winningest coach opts to leave VI Raiders.

Coach Snoop will be scripting a new gridiron chapter.

This past Thursday, Matthew (Snoop) Blokker announced that he will not sign a new contract with the VI Raiders of the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).

At this point, Blokker is actively looking for a full-time coaching opportunity ā€“ something the Raiders was financially unable to make possible.

Blokker has been with the team since they came into the league in 2005. Ā Under his leadership, the Raiders have been successful as the team has amassed three Canadian Bowl titles, five appearances in the Canadian Bowl final and seven conference titles.Ā  This past year, he vaulted into the history books as he became the BCFCā€™s most winningest coach.

On the Raiders website, Blokker issued the following statement:

“I just want to thank everybody and anyone that has been a part of the organization in any way over the past nine years. I would like to thank them for their contribution to a great run and the great success we had. Thank you to the players I have had a chance to coach over the last nine years. Thank you to the media for their fair and passionate coverage of the team. Most off all, thank you to the winningest coaching staff in the history of the BCFC.ā€

The Raiders are presently seeking to fill the head coaching vacancy.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
