Bison dream realized (VIDEO)

Manitoba lineman signs with CWUAA team.

Josh Toledo is looking forward to embarking on his CIS gridiron career on the home stage.

Recently, the 5’11, 255 pound lineman from Winnipeg signed with the University of Manitoba Bisons for the 2014 CWUAA season.

“I know I’m going to into a program that just like any other that their main goal is to win a Vanier Cup but also everyone is there to help you and make sure that everyone is on the same page to go and get it,” explained Toledo of his decision.  “It’s my hometown which lets me be close to my family and close friends that I’ve grown up playing football with.”

“It also makes going to school easier and Manitoba is a great academic school.  Also it’s always been a dream/goal to play for the Bisons because as a kid you looked up to anyone who played for them and it’s pretty cool to be at that end of the stick now.”

Toledo comes to the Bisons after completing a stint with the Vancouver Island Raiders in the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).  Previous to the Raiders, the lineman also suited up for the Miles Macdonnell Buckeyes of the Winnipeg High School Football League (WHSFL) and the East Side Eagles.
