Bishops grad Shawn Gore released by Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers announced the release of undrafted rookie wide receiver Shawn Gore.
Gore tried out for the Packers during their three-day mini-camp after the NFL Draft. The 6-1, 200-pound Toronto, Ontario native caught 37 passes for 610 yards and 5 touchdowns last season for Bishop’s University.

The B.C. Lions made Gore the 10th overall pick of the 2010 CFL Draft.
In three pre-season games, Gore caught a pair of passes for 23 yards, including an 18-yard reception against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night.

Green Bay now has 79 players on their active roster. They’ll need to release four more players before Tuesday’s 4pm ET deadline to cut down to 75 players.

Gore has 10 days to clear NFL waivers but could sign with a CFL or UFL club during that time.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
