Big Surprise: NFL Owners Don’t Want To Negotiate

Those looking to bet on NFL at BetUs are anxiously paying attention to the news, looking for anything that may signal a positive turn in the negotiations to end the lockout. However, it appears that there haven’t even been any trips to the bargaining table, and the owners have declined a chance to try and end this situation.

The NFLPA apparently tried to get together with the owners on or around March 28th in order to discuss matters, but word is, the owners declined to meet with the NFLPA. The theory is that the decertification of the union and the subsequent antitrust suits filed by the likes of Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning is a thorn in the side of the owners and has complicated matters, so they are going to do what everyone figured they would all along: sit and try to wait out the players. We knew this was going to happen because the fact of the matter is, most of the owners can afford to miss out on football, and in some cases, it may even be more profitable if they don’t have a season. There aren’t many players in the NFL who can afford to miss much time, so the players are at a disadvantage, even though they did score a major win when they managed to stop the owners from collection money from their television contracts.

All this confirms is that the owners are the ones who are stopping us from enjoying our football and football betting this season. Remember, the players wanted to continue playing under the old CBA until a new one could be agreed to, and the owners weren’t in favor of that. They’re just going to sit and wait for the players to break, which also doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon, so you may want to start getting into the college game; that may be your only source of gridiron action in the fall.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
