BC Lions players of the week (7): Joseph, Cheng, Wegner named

BC LIONS

British Columbia Football Conference Players of the Week

Week 7

OFFENCE

Maximilian Joseph / RB / Langley Rams

24 carries for 226 yards & 3 TDS

1 reception for 22 yards

Maximilian Joseph is considered by many around the BCFC as perhaps the biggest all around offensive talent as he is a weapon running the ball, catching the ball and on special teams as well.

Saturday afternoon in the Rams 27-3 thrashing of the Westshore Rebels he contributed all 3 of the Rams touchdowns and 86% of their net offense.

This is Josephā€™s second consecutive BC Lions POW and 3rd of the season.

DEFENSE

Jeremie Cheng / DB / VI Raiders

2 tackles / 1 batted ball / 2 interceptions

Jeremie Cheng has been one of the most underrated defensive backs in the BCFC for three seasons but opposing receivers know well who he is.

Cheng continues to be a quiet leader of the Raiders defense in 2018 and had another shut down night in the Raiders win 31-7 win over the Kamloops Broncos

SPECIAL TEAMS

Isaac Wegner / K / Okanagan Sun

4 of 4 converts / 5 of 5 field goals

7 punts for 41.7 average

Isaac Wegner has been Mr. Reliable all season for the Okanagan Sun and was perfect Saturday night as the Sun dismantled the Valley Huskers 43-13.

Kickers get all the negative looks when a kick is missed and not nearly enough credit for good field position when itā€™s needed most but this season the Sun know full well what their kicker brings to the table.

This is Isaacā€™s second BC Lions POW of the season
