Bantam Cougars take the win

Bantam Cougars 22 , Waterloo 12

Well our young Bantam team played their best game of the season thus far as we kept our playoff hope’s alive with a 22 to 12 victory over the Waterloo Predators.
As a Team offensively we rushed the ball incredibly well with 27 attempts for 247 total yards and 3 TDs. Our ground game was carried by Brennan Normandin-Kerr (18 for 151 TD) Ben Church (8 for 95 TD) and Jack Crow contributed on the ground as well with a 1 yard TD in the second half to help seal the victory.
Defensively we played another strong game and continued to force turnovers. Trevon Smith was all over the field again with 7 total tackles. Ayden Rioux had another solid game defensively with 4 tackles and 2 PBUs and Maddux Stewart played well within our secondary with 3 tackles and 2 PBUs. Both Ben Church (1 INT) and Brennan Normandin-Kerr had solid games on D as well.
Specials was another bright spot this past week. Although we allowed a kick return TD due to a blown assignment. Ashton Vink was 3 for 3 on PAT, Joseph Riemer had a timely blocked extra point attempt. Also as a unit young players like Carter Dodman, Max McCracken, Riley Hodges and Tanner Perrault-Therrien also contributed to specials as they have done all season.
Now as a team we hit the practice field hard this week as we have Oakville coming to town this Sunday and we need to be prepared for another tough battle!
