Akeel Lynch: 3 NCAA verbal (FBS) offers and counting – Class 2012 (video)

“Little” Akeel Lynch is not so little anymore. While playing for Team Ontario, St. Mike’s or the Toronto Jr. Argos in 2009 the nifty running back was 160 pounds on a good day. Now 200 pounds, recently clocked at 10.9 (100 meters) and 22.9 (200 meters), the Etobicoke running back is ready to show his stuff at 3 top-flight FBS school camps this summer.

“I’ve been working really hard and eating a lot”, Akeel said from his Ontario home during the Memorial day holiday Monday.

As of this week Akeel has received offers from FBS schools Buffalo, Syracuse and Connecticut. He will be traveling to Stanford, Boston College, and Penn State’s football camps this summer.

Akeel is now at the tail end of the track season and hopes to compete at the New York state championships in 2 weeks. He has ran a 10.9 – 100 meter time and 22.9 – 200 meter time this spring.

Akeel attended St. Francis high school in Buffalo in 2010, his grade 11 year. He plans to return to St. Francis for his senior year. In 2010 he was an all-league running back (Buffalo Catholic – Monsignor Martin) and 2nd team All-Western New York.

Akeel is one of two Canadian players playing at St. Francis at the moment. Defensive back Will Hudson from Oakville, Ontario is the other.

Other than training and attending football camps this summer, Akeel will also be participating in 7 on 7 games and tournaments.

NOTE: Akeel and recent Virginia verbal commit Ryan Doull played on the same team (Team Ontario – East) that won the U17 Football Canada Cup in 2009 in Saskatoon
