(White Rock, BC) May 9, 2017 – Quarterbacks Tate Williams, Charlie McMillan, Michael Lane, Nate Hunt, Oak Adams, and Benjamin Robinson headline some of Canada’s brightest emerging football stars in the 2017 Fox 40 Prospect Challenge, as Fox 40, Russell Athletic, Big Kahuna, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC), and the Canadian Football League (CFL), announced the game schedule for the fourth annual edition of the nation’s largest all-star football showcase event.

The third weekend of the tournament kicks off Saturday May 13th (Perry Percy Stadium, Coquitlam) at 11:00 am when the West Coast Grade 8/9 all-stars play the Interior Grade 8/9 all-stars.Β  The game is followed at 1:30 pm with the West Coast Sophomore FPC all-stars play the interior Sophomore FPC all-stars.Β  The day culminates with the showcase Varsity game featuring the top FPC West Coast all-stars versus the Interior all-stars at 4:00pm.

The CFL will be using the Varsity game to evaluate amateur officials. β€œThe identification of talent isn’t just restricted to players”, said Glen Johnson, SVP Football for the CFL. β€œWe are excited to use all-star games like the FPC Series to develop and scout prospects as potential U Sports and CFL officials.”

CFCs platforms deliver highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content from the 2017 Fox 40 Prospect Challenge. Game rosters will be available at the stadium as well as online the week prior to the event on Canadafootballchat.com.

General Admission tickets for Perry Percy Stadium will be available on-site only. General Admission day passes include Adults ($10), and Students ($5).

The FPC gives back to local football teams and players every year. Last year’s event rose over $5000 for local clubs and many underprivileged players have received full scholarships each year. In its three years, the FPC has raised over $10,000 in fundraising and scholarships.

About the 4th Annual Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (#CFCFPC)

The tournament, formerly known as the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) in Central Canada, is a series of elite showcase games that feature the best tackle football players across most of Canada, aged 10-19 years. The three-phased event, which includes a multitude of competitive evaluations, includes three tournament game locations (Hamilton – April 28-29; Ottawa – May 6-7; Coquitlam, BC – May 13). All Hamilton games and Ottawa May 6th games will be live streamed and tape delayed. Ottawa May 7th will be tape delayed and Coquitlam, May 13th, will be LIVE STREAMED.
