CFC # 2 has 18 NCAA offers, reacts to CFC TOP 100 ranking

CFC’s # 2 is going to have a busy summer on both sides of the border.

Wesley Annan’s plans will include training as well as recruitment pit stops.

“This summer I’m going to be in the states going to camps and visiting schools,” described Annan of his summer plans.   “I’ll be training at EFT Sports Chicago and the ALSC (Canadian Football Factory) in Scarborough.”

Annan has caught the eye of many NCAA Division 1 programs.  The 6’4, 280 pound defensive lineman from Whitby, Ontario has received upwards of 18 offers.  Those include Illinois Fighting Illini (May 22nd), Syracuse Orange, Ball State Cardinals, Bowling Green Falcons, Brown Bears, Bucknell Bison, Central Michigan Chippewas, Colgate Red Gators, Cornell Big Red, Duke Blue Devils, Harvard Crimson, Holy Cross Crusaders, Maryland Terrapins, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Toledo Rockets, Tulane Green Wave and West Michigan Broncos.

Currently, Annan is currently attending Lake Forest Academy in Illinois. Other teams he has previously suited up north of the border for include the Toronto Thunder of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and the Donald A Wilson Gators of the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (LOSSAA).

The Ontario defensive lineman is humbled by his high ranking on CFC’s TOP 100. For Annan, the work doesn’t stop here in spite of the coveted recognition.

“I’m honored to be ranked as a top Canadian prospect; however, I won’t let it get to me,” expressed Annan.  “I’m still going to train and work as if I’m an athlete no one has heard of.”

“My big focuses right now are taking care of my team for next season and preparing my body for college football.”

The Ontario defensive lineman has some advice for any players looking to gain a spot on CFC’s TOP 100.

“To those who are looking to get ranked- don’t worry about the ranking,” said Annan.  “Play football!”

“Worry about your teammates, your grades, your family, and your character. Have fun playing this sport.   It should never stress you out to play football.  Just live it and breathe it.  #ZooFootball.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
